Every so often there is a product that meets a need and is not some outrageous price. For me,that product is Xochitl chips out of Irving, Texas. Finally, they have a corn tortilla chip that is salt free. Xochitl makes lots of varieties and they do have salt but I have been looking for something that lets up on the salt. There is so much salt in gluten and dairy free food that it is a relief to find a chip that doesn’t make it worse. Another product that is worth the money for gluten and dairy free is Daiya dairy free, soy free, gluten free cheese substitute. The Truly Free Bakery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is a gluten free bakery and deli. They have great food and I asked the owner where they find the cheese they use in their lasagna. He said, ‘it is called Daiya cheese substitute’. I came back to Birmingham and started searching for Daiya. Publix has Daiya in the tofu section of the produce area. With a few good gluten free, dairy free products you start to forget that gluteny food was better.
