Quaker Oatmeal Cookies

For the last couple of years my husband has been volunteering at one of our local nursing homes. Once a week he goes over to visit with the rest-home residents and then once month he takes some type of snack over and puts it in the elders mail boxes. Quaker has come out with some new soft oatmeal based cookies that are great for older folks that have trouble eating. It is also great for a cheap on the go breakfast for almost anyone. For about 25 cents (purchased in bulk on Amazon) you get a large 170 cal cookie with 4g of fiber. For elderly senior adults it is important to snack throughout the day. Keeping a consistent weight is very important for a person 80+ living at home or in rest-home. It is an indication that the person may be in the start of a downward health spiral. So, after a lifetime of don’t eat that, after a certain age it is go ahead and eat. Just keep it healthy and forget stuff that is sticky or too hard,
